Sandy clay and pebble soils produce the exceptional Grenache and Mourvèdre which Héritage d’Aqueria is made from. Both varieties are picked at optimum maturity and blended in equal proportions; a perfect marriage which results in a wine full of character, elegance and precision.

Ageing

40% aged for 18 months in 1-4 year old French oak.

Vinification

Produced in exceptional vintages, the Grenache and Mourvèdre are picked by hand then destemmed and lightly pressed before a long maceration of about 4 weeks in vats. Pumping over and punching down during fermentation ensure the optimum extraction of each variety.

Tasting notes

Eye: Dark deep red with intense violet tints.

Nose: Lovely nose with stone fruits, tapenade and spicy notes.

Mouth: Full, harmonious on the palate. Silky tannins with aromas of black fruit, spices and undergrowth.

16 - 18°C

Food pairing

Côte de bœuf, roast pork with spices, truffled beef, venison with red wine and oyster mushrooms.

Drink now or lay down for 10-15 years.
